The Medical College of Georgia (MCG), established in 1828, has a long tradition of educating physicians and physician researchers. With a large student body, MCG offers a comprehensive educational experience anchored in Augusta and includes regional clinical campuses and a new four-year campus in Savannah, opening in July 2024. MCG's 3+ Curriculum allows students to customize their education, emphasizing primary care, research, or dual degrees. MCG boasts a higher-than-average Match rate, with graduates securing top residency positions nationwide. The school also provides postgraduate education to nearly 600 residents and fellows, with about 50% practicing in Georgia. MCG's research focuses on major health issues, and its faculty serve at numerous clinics and hospitals statewide. The institution is fully accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.
